Club Report: Sing It If You Know It Party, Welcome Aboard Party (Norwegian Star)

By now you know that if we’re traveling we like to share entertainment choices in the various cities or ships we’re on. So here we are on Norwegian Star sailing from San Antonio, Chile to Buenos Aires, Argentina and going “around the horn”. Like last month’s trip on Norwegian Jewel, much of the action takes place in Bliss Lounge.
We began the cruise with the “Sing It If You Know It” game of sorts.
It’s like Karaoke on steroids with two teams competing with group singing. With a few drinks consumed by the participants, it was fun to watch.
This was immediately followed by the “Welcome Aboard Party”. Typically cruises have “Sail-Away” parties on the pool deck but this cruise was departing in chilly weather so everything was kept inside. Santiago, Chile is in a central valley between a coastal mountain range and the Andes and had sunny temps in the 80’s but a two hour drive to the coast brought us to cloudy temps in the 50’s.
Live band Rhythm Jive (RP) provided the party’s music which was pretty much 70’s Disco so I was happy!
Songs like “Funky Town”, “We are Family” and “In The Navy” packed the dance floor.
The more songs like “Love Train”, “I Will Survive” and “September” kept it packed!
And of course, “YMCA”.
It was a good start to the cruise and a good time was had by all.
