Club Reports: Barbarella 2.0, Wall Street Cantina, Elixir Bar

With a late night arrival back in Orlando after a day trip to the Niagara frontier, my plan was to spend the rest of my evening solely at Barbarella 2.0. Sadly, I arrived there to find an empty parking lot and a note on the door. Hurricane Ian had struck again!
Plan B sent me downtown and dropped-in to Wall Street Cantina.
Where we found DJ Afrodisiax (USA) in the booth playing Top 40 and Breaks.
Post covid-19, Wall St. Plaza has struggled to become relevant again but the last few weekends we’ve definitely seen some crowds back.
Wall Street Cantina had a crowd at the bar but it was otherwise empty even though the selections were good. With Gilt ownership having taken over the spot, no announcements yet on whether they plan to renovate the space or keep it the dive bar that its always been.
Well, at least one fan was enjoying the music!
Next over to Elixir Bar. Yes, two nights in-a-row but Elixir is a place you’ll always find great music!
Walking onto their famous outdoor patio, we arrived to find THIS!
For DJ duo Yokai (USA).
Big crowd on the dance floor for their House set.
And then, there he was, last night’s headliner: Carlos Cid is DJ CID (USA).
A surprising amount of Latin House at the beginning but then he settled in to more of a traditional House & EDM set.
He had the dance floor bouncing!
It’s been awhile; we last saw CID live in 2017 at Gilt Concert Venue.
He had also played the kineticFIELD main stage at EDC-Orlando in 2016.
I didn’t stick around that late though last night. The long day having to get up at 4AM for my flight to the great white north was finally catching up to me and my pillow was calling me home. Nonetheless, a good time was had by all.
