Club Report: Cheers (Boston) By King Bob in Club Reports July 5, 2022 As you know, when we travel we like to visit local bars and clubs to check out the scene. In Boston this past weekend, we of course had to visit Cheers. The original bar inspired the hit TV sitcom of the same name which ran from 1982 to 1993 and forever since in syndicated reruns. Like its television namesake, Cheers is located in the basement of this building. There was a large crowd outside waiting to get in. Also like the television show, there is a long wood bar occupying most of the room surrounded by a number of small tables. As there would be a long wait to get served, we didn’t stick around that long. In another room at the rear there is a Cheers logo store selling souvenirs. But with tee shirts priced at $38 and even a measly fridge magnet costing $10, the shop was clearly for bigger fans of the Cheers show than we were. Nonetheless, from the looks of the patrons excited to be at the bar, a good time was had by all. Cheers!
