Club Reports: Taverna Opa, Ice Bar, Midnight Lounge, Celine

We usually drop by International Drive a few times per year and that is where we began our journey last night. First stop Pointe Orlando and Opa.
Here we found DJ Oteo (USA) in the booth keeping the place hopping!
You can never go wrong with Go Go girls!
Like I said!
Most clubs would kick you out and trespass you if you stood on a table. At Opa, they encourage it! Editors Note: This is a pre-covid File Photo.
The music is Reggaeton, Dembow and of course in a Greek restaurant, Greek!
During this era where outdoor dining is favored, many of the venue’s tables have been moved outside.
And there was a pretty good crowd out here!
Just north of Pointe Orlando along International Drive is Icebar.
Here we found DJ ET (USA) in the booth.
Good crowd on hand. Admission is typically free for the club itself (except for special events) and only a charge if you want to experience their frozen ice room. The “Twisted Krampus” party is tonight ft. DJ’s Evolv3, Daggett and Infinite (all USA). Tickets.
The music is mostly Hip Hop and Top 40.
The venue is upscale and drink prices are decent.
Great to see DJ ET again; first time seeing him since the so-called “Techno Night” at Universal Citywalk as shown here.
A little further along I-Drive and back behind Señor Frog’s is Midnight Lounge.
Good to see DJ Astylez (USA) in the booth when I arrived.
This is primarily a hookah lounge so the crowd was pretty chill with no one dancing.
This apparently was a storage area for Frogs back in the day. With its hidden location, it definitely felt underground.
Astylez was playing mostly Reggaeton during my visit.
Big room with cool decorations. We’ll be back on I-Drive in February for a more encompassing visit north to south!
Now on to downtown and Celine Nightclub.
DJ Loco Dice (TN/D) was already on when I arrived.
Born in Tunis but now based in Düsseldorf, his selections last night were on the Tech House side in my opinion.
As is typical here, packed.
The beats had everyone bouncing.
The lasers were flying.
Loco Dice played at EDC-Orlando in 2012 but otherwise I don’t recall him playing here. Editors Note: Blog reader Cory reports that he also played at EDC-Orlando last year. He’s right and here is one of our photos: Link Thanks, Cory!
A good time was had by all.
