Club Reports: Bullitt Bar, McQueens, Monkey Bar, Aero Bar, Celine

There are numerous standard stops on our downtown bar tours but we also like to drop in on others to see what is going on. Friday night’s first stop was Bullitt Bar.
Just a light crowd during our early visit.
The DJ was playing Hip Hop but no one really dances at Bullitt.
Bullitt is named for the 1968 action film of the same name starring Steve McQueen.
Upstairs is sister venue aptly named McQueens.
Here we found weekend resident DJ Freefall (USA) on his gold decks also playing Hip Hop but more classics than downstairs.
The DJ booth is up on the building’s 3rd floor and looks down to the main area below. While Bullitt Bar is more grungy looking, McQueens is more upscale.
McQueens has what is arguably downtown’s best selfie background wall.
There were already groups in here having a starter drink and mapping out the evening’s plans.
Monkey Bar is that hidden gem located within the Wall St. Plaza complex.
Resident DJ Dity (USA) was in the booth playing House, Minimal and Chill.
The inside bar was just beginning to see some activity.
Ditto for the outside bar on their balcony. If you’re in Wall St. Plaza looking for Top 40 or Hip Hop, you’ll have no trouble finding it. But if you’re looking for more sophisticated music, Monkey Bar is the place!
There’s always waves of people passing through!
Aero is one of our downtown favorites!
Friday night resident DJ Cliff T (USA) was in the perch!
The dance floor was literally jammed!
As a rooftop venue, you’re literally “dancing with the stars”.
That look you get from EDM and House hits!
House music all night long!
Cliff T joined in the booth by Kelley and DJ Robin (USA).
The lasers were flying!
The peeps want EDM!
Final stop, Celine Nightclub.
The downstairs main room was dark last night but the upstairs rooftop was open for business and we arrived to find DJ D-Day (USA) on the decks!
Lots of people up here too.
First time seeing Tampa-based DJ Chase West (USA) playing.
His set included an interesting assortment of House remixes of songs like “Hollaback Girl” and “Please Don’t Stop The Music”.
Gettin’ crowded up here…..
For the headliner, DJ Westend (USA).
I thought this was the first time seeing him play but I was reminded that he played at EDC-Orlando in 2018 on the Corona Beach Stage as seen here.
DJ had everyone bouncing!
You know if it’s a big House show, Amelia & Storm are going to be right up front!
A lot of Westend songs have a Dirtybird vibe to them!
House music all night long.
The “room” was filled all the way to the rear.
He brought his own Pioneer mixer which was installed above the one the others had used.
The peeps want House music!
Everywhere we went last night, a good time was had by all.
