You know by now if it’s at all possible on a Saturday night, I’m going to drop by Independent Bar. And after months of anticipation, there it was!Just as it should be on a Saturday night, DJ Indie John (USA) in the booth.They still had a couple tables on the dance floor to create social distancing although the law now in Florida is 100% capacity.Spotted at the bar: Tracy, Melisa & I-Bar resident lighting tech Ernie.Spotted in VIP: Karen & Jeff from Mannequins.Spotted on the dance floor: Brian, Lydia Eden & BeckyThere was a line at the door and although it was early, the club was beginning to populate.The Saturday night music format is early to mid-80’s New Wave. Everybody loves the 80’s!There’s always a party at The Patio which finally reopened last night. Of course there’s been no party for months due to Florida’s nightclub restrictions.Resident DJ Parry (USA) back in control again!The music is mostly old and new Top 40.The place was pretty empty during my early visit but I’m told it got pretty crowded later on!Directly above The Patio is downtown-favorite Aero Bar.Saturday night resident DJ Dominick Morrison (USA) aka “The Dom” was in the booth. Of course we know Dom from his days as a DJ at Mannequins and since today is the 12th anniversary of Pleasure Island closing, it was good to see him!The music is House and EDM.There’s always a great vibe at Aero.Dom is also the annual New Years Eve DJ at EPCOT: Chinabut he has not heard yet what Disney has planned for the upcoming NYE. We’ll keep you updated here on OEN.One of my favorite places downtown!Gilt Nightclub is now Gilt Concert Venue.DJ Caleb Dent (USA) was in the booth upon arrival.The couches and bar stools are gone and unlike last week, the dance floor was open for business!House music all night long.He was quite animated. We had just seen him on Friday night at Celine as he is also part of DJ duo City Boys (USA).Spotted on the dance floor: Donna & ErickParty in VIP!And then at 1AM, there he was! DJ Croatia Squad (CH)Dance floor got packed!A bit blurry due to the fog but you get the idea!The music House and Deep House.DJ friends!Having fun in VIP! Croatia Squad is neither Croatian nor a squad. Born and based in Switzerland, his DJ name originated because of an early-in-his-career residency at a nightclub in Croatia. He’s part of that Swiss Deep House DJ group that includes EDX and Nora en Pure.Everybody excited to be back on a dance floor!A good time was had by all.
