Checking out Friday night in a rather subdued downtown Orlando. First stop Elixir Bar.Arrived to find DJ K1K0 (USA) in the booth!Elixir‘s famous outdoor patio puts you right in the middle of Orlando’s skyline!Their outdoor bar was seeing some activity.But overall not as crowded as we’ve recently seen here.DJ Kevin Conn (USA) dropping by for a visit on his way to duties at AeroBar.All House music last night! More House tonight here at Elixir if you’re out and about.So come check it out if you’re downtown!Ember is another outdoor patio venue.When we arrived, DJ Rockaway (USA) was pushing out Hip Hop, R&B and Caribbean-vibed sounds!Joined by MC Ghostrider (USA) describing the tunes!Shortly after midnight, the legendary DJ Magic Mike (USA) took control.Tables were occupied throughout the expansive patio but overall the place was empty.Outdoor patio bar.Inside bar.The music was great though.This was the club back in February and last night was nothing like this. Why? IMO, when Ember announced they were reopening, they told everyone that mandatory table reservations were required to get in. People took that to mean bottle service and no one’s got the money for that. That is not being enforced; I was able to get inside with a nominal cover charge but the impression is out there. They need to clarify their intent immediately. Celine is back as the Friday night home to House music.Social distancing was in place when I first came in with DJ Dead Space (USA) playing.Masks? Not so many.At 12:30AM, DJ Eskuche (RUS/USA) took over.Kind of a blend of non-vocal House and Tech House.He was bouncing to his own music!Eskuche was originally from Russia before moving to NYC where he is now based.More masks did appear and people were generally dancing apart from each other.The music had everyone bouncing!Eskuche played on the Elixir Bar patio back in March, 2019.A good time was had by all.
