Club Reports: Kush, Elixir Bar, Independent Bar

Saturday night in the city and making the rounds beginning with Kush Ultralounge.
The legendary DJ Jerry “The Reverend” Johnson in the booth playing an Eclectic mix of music but always open for requests.
Kush is stunning with all-white walls and furniture.
It’s a place to chill with friends while smoking a hookah.
Next over to Elixir Bar.
Saturday night resident DJ Chino (USA) was in the booth.
House music had a small contingent on the dance floor on their famous outside patio.
There was plenty of social distancing between groups of friends.
As a restaurant, for awhile they were the only club open downtown playing electronic dance music. It helped me survive the pandemic months! Now that restrictions have been lifted (but with 50% capacity limitations), Elixir wasn’t quite as crowded as we’ve seen but it was hardly empty either.
But the music remains awesome! DJ Chino is the Friday night resident DJ at The Groove in Universal CityWalk. No word yet on when that might reopen.
Always a great time at Elixir!
You know by now if it’s at all possible on a Saturday night, I’m going to try to visit Independent Bar. And now that they’ve reopened, it was a must!
Some cool new art work at the front entrance.
I-Bar‘s front room has new decor!
And a new soon-to-be iconic selfie sign in the passageway between the front room and the main room!
DJ Kimball Collins (USA) was delivering the music; Lighting Tech Ernie was delivering the lights!
Large tables have been placed on the dance floor to limit the capacity while creating opportunities for social distancing.
The Saturday night format is 80’s Alternative.
With I-Bar newly reopened, it was 80’s hit-after-hit last night with nothing obscure.
A good time was had by all.
