Club Reports: Sunday Night House vs Sunday Night Techno

A rare Sunday night outing downtown to check out the action. We began at Elixir Bar.
And out onto their famous outdoor patio and walked into this!
In the booth, DJ Phoenix Jagger (USA) was going back-to-back with DJ Benny Black (USA).
Although either the DJ’s were backwards or the sign was backwards, lol.
Dance floor was packed.
House music had everyone bouncing.
You know it’s a great night when these two are playing!
Phoenix Jagger joins DJ Pacho Berrocal (USA) on the Art Car Stage on Saturday night at EDC-Orlando next month. Advance tickets for EDC including 1-day passes can be found here.
Spotted inside: The aforementioned DJ Pacho Berrocal with DJ Horny Dave (USA).
Spotted up front and center!
Spotted in VIP. Crop tops for the win!
Spotted aft: Rebecca, Farah, Noelle, Frankie, Brandy & Michelle
Spotted without the crowd: Brandy & Michelle
Spotted: Elixir dance floor regulars
The outdoor bar stayed busy!
And then surprisingly early, the headliner…..
DJ Oscar G (USA)
He looks a bit grayer and grayer each time we seem him, unlike us who don’t age.
Mixing House and Latin House tunes.
Elixir on a Sunday night!
Time to move on. Directly across the street is The Patio where the long-running series Sundown Sundays was happening.
We walked into this!
The music hard-driving Techno!
The opener DJ Ginza (USA) was still in the booth upon arrival.
First time seeing him play!
The beats were relentless.
Club started to fill-up as some people we saw across the street migrated over here.
Spotted on the dance floor: Chris T.
Spotted at the pillar: Kevin
Spotted with guy…..
Spotted without guy.
Spotted on the mezzanine.
Spotted in the Tech booth: DJ Dominick Morrison (USA). He’s typically the NYE DJ outside EPCOT: China and he (and we) are still awaiting word from the Mouse about whether the DJ parties will be happening again this year.
Spotted looking serious: Claudia, DJ Brasuca (BR) & Latesia
And then the headliner, the birthday boy himself…..
DJ Carlos Mendoza (USA).
Not quite as crowded as across the street, but definitely livelier.
Carlos playing off all 4 decks!
Besides playing at EDC-Orlando himself, over the years we’ve see Carlos Mendoza open for some of the biggest names in the business such as Carl Cox (GB), Nicole Moudaber (GB), Paul van Dyk (D), Rony Seikaly (USA) & Roger Sanchez (USA) among others.
The peeps want Techno!
The dancers were moving at high speeds! So who won, Sunday night House at Elixir Bar or Sunday night Techno at Sundown Sundays?
VANS won! At both venues, a good time was had by all.
